Welcome to the Office of Public Sector Reform’s Website. This website has been developed to inform and educate visitors about public sector modernisation in Barbados and the work of the Office of Public Sector Reform.
The Public Service of Barbados is currently facing a number challenges and it is imperative that as a sector, we make the necessary adjustment to accelerate our reforms for us to become more productive, responsive, efficient, innovative and customer focused.
The Office of Public Sector Reform has responded to our nation’s challenges by offering, change management and project management services in addition to our other services. We have also embarked on a new initiative aimed at improving business facilitation by reviewing and reengineering service agencies in the Public Sector.
Some of the other initiatives for 2018 include the launch of our ‘Challenge to Change’ app, where users will have access to our publications like the Challenge to Change magazine, Orientation Manual and Administrative Officers’ Manual. In addition, the Office will also be showcasing in some of the major projects being undertaken by the Ministry of the Civil Service like the Employee Assistance Programme, Correspondence Management System and the Competency Framework.
The Office has also strengthened alliances with key Public sector agencies such as NISE, Productivity Council, Ministry of International Business, Commerce and Small Business Development, Data Processing Department, E-government Unit in the Ministry of the Civil Service and the Prime Minister’s Office to improve business facilitation in the Public Service.
It is expected that these and other initiatives are implemented Barbados’ Public Service will make great strides in its efforts to meet the needs of its citizens.
